November 2008: Travel Grant Awarded
MLA SCC congratulates Chih-Hsien Chien, winner of this year's travel grant.
September 2008: Travel Grant Available
The Southern California Chapter of MLA has a travel grant of up to $1,000 to support a member's attendance of MLA 2009 in Chicago.
The applicant must be a member of MLA/SCC and be in the first three years of his/her professional career, a graduate student in library school (by the time of the meeting) aspiring to become a music librarian, or a recent graduate (within one year of degree) of a graduate program in librarianship seeking a professional position as a music librarian.
Please submit the following by October 15, 2008:
- A letter of application with an explanation of the reasons for attending the meeting, a justification of financial need, and a budget (the room rate will be approximately $175 plus tax).
- A current vita
- Two letters of support under separate cover (e-mail is acceptable)
